At Lollipops Britomart, every day is filled with curiosity, laughter, and connection as children explore, learn, and grow in our warm, multicultural community. As our Centre Cook, you'll play an important role in creating nourishing meals that bring children and teachers together, becoming part of the special moments that make our centre unique. From watching our youngest babies delight in Sensory Wednesdays to sharing the fresh bread lovingly baked by our preschoolers each week on Bread Day, you'll be surrounded by the joy, energy, and wonder of early childhood. This is more than a cooking role—it's an opportunity to contribute to a vibrant environment where children thrive and meaningful relationships are built every day

Our amazing Cook about to greet their own pepi so we're looking for a passionate Cook to join our whanau at Lollipops Britomart. This is your chance to make a real difference in children's lives by preparing nutritious, delicious meals that fuel their growth and development. The role is 30 hours per week Monday – Friday.  The parental leave period runs from 7 September 2026 – 19 March 2027.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Planning and preparing fresh, nutritious meals and snacks for children
  • Following food safety and hygiene standards at all times
  • Accommodating special dietary requirements and allergies
  • Managing kitchen inventory and supplies
  • Maintaining a clean, organized kitchen space
  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff on meal planning

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience in commercial cooking or food preparation
  • Food safety certification or willingness to obtain
  • Understanding of child nutrition principles
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Genuine care for children's wellbeing
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
