Active Explorers St Lukes is a nurturing, inclusive early learning centre where strong whānau relationships and child‑led learning guide everything we do. Our second‑floor location offers a unique treetop outlook, bringing nature into our purpose-built, culturally diverse environment.

We welcome tamariki from birth to five years across three tailored learning spaces. Each day includes enriching experiences — from yoga and baking to excursions and imaginative play — all grounded in respectful care and a warm, connected community.

We're looking for a passionate Cook to join our team at our St Lukes whanau. This is your chance to make a real difference in children's lives by preparing nutritious, delicious meals that fuel their growth and development. The role is 20 hours Monday – Friday.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Planning and preparing fresh, nutritious meals and snacks for children
• Following food safety and hygiene standards at all times
• Accommodating special dietary requirements and allergies
• Managing kitchen inventory and supplies
• Maintaining a clean, organized kitchen space
• Working collaboratively with teaching staff on meal planning

What We're Looking For:

• Experience in commercial cooking or food preparation
• Food safety certification or willingness to obtain
• Understanding of child nutrition principles
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Genuine care for children's wellbeing
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
