Nestled in the heart of Greymouth, Active Explorers Shakespeare Street is a caring, connected space where children aged 2 to 6 can learn, laugh, and thrive. Set on a former bowling green, we’re lucky to have a huge outdoor area perfect for climbing, biking, and exploring, alongside inviting indoor spaces filled with creativity and warmth. Relationships are at the heart of what we do — we take time to truly know our tamariki and whānau, creating a welcoming environment where every child feels safe, seen and celebrated. Our one-room setup supports smooth transitions and strong peer connections, fostering a real family-style atmosphere. We’re proud of our close-knit, multicultural community — with strong Māori and Indian whānau connections and regular visits to our neighbours at the retirement flats next door. Our small, passionate team has worked together for years, creating a stable, loving environment where tamariki can grow with confidence, curiosity, and joy.
