At Active Explorers Invercargill, we believe every child deserves an environment where they feel valued, inspired, and empowered to learn. Located in the heart of Invercargill, our modern purpose-built centre sits close to local landmarks including Queens Park, the library, shops, and community spaces, providing endless opportunities for meaningful, real-world learning experiences.

We're looking for a passionate Certificated Kaiako to join our team on a part-time basis. If you're committed to building strong relationships, fostering curiosity, and making a genuine impact in the lives of tamariki, we'd love to hear from you.

At Active Explorers Invercargill, you'll be part of a supportive team that values collaboration, growth, and creating exceptional learning experiences for children.

Our offer to you:

  • A welcoming and supportive team culture
  • Well-resourced learning environments that encourage creativity and innovation
  • Ongoing professional growth and development opportunities
  • Connections across the wider Evolve Education Group network
  • A centre culture built on strong relationships, curiosity, and exploration

About Our Centre

Our philosophy is grounded in:

  • Free movement
  • Meaningful relationships
  • Curiosity-led learning

Children enjoy spacious outdoor environments, age-specific learning spaces, and large covered decks that enable year-round exploration and connection with nature.

A unique feature of our programme is Nui Explorers, our adventure-based learning initiative for older tamariki. From bushcraft and bug hunting to hut building, tree climbing, and community excursions, children are encouraged to develop resilience, confidence, independence, and a deep connection to Papatūānuku.

What we are looking for in you:

  • An ECE teaching qualification and current practising certificate
  • A positive attitude, energy, and sense of humour
  • Strong relationship-building skills with tamariki, whānau, and colleagues
  • A collaborative approach and commitment to team success
  • A passion for continuous learning and professional growth
  • An appreciation for community engagement and child-led learning experiences

Join Our Learning Community

If you're ready to make a meaningful difference in the lives of tamariki while working alongside a passionate and supportive team, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today and become part of the Active Explorers Invercargill whānau, where exploration, belonging, and learning are at the heart of everything we do.
