Nau mai, haere mai ki tō mātou whare ako!
Tucked within a warm, whānau-focused pocket in Strowan, our purpose-built centre is a place where aroha, connection, and relationships truly come first. This is a space where our Tamariki feel safe, nurtured, and deeply valued every single day.
Our kaupapa (philosophy) is grounded in primary care — building strong, responsive relationships with each child and their whānau. We lead with manaakitanga, kindness, and empathy, and believe in offering meaningful challenges that support each child’s unique learning journey.
Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, we embrace open-ended play, natural resources, and child-led learning. While experience in this practice is an advantage, we are committed to supporting your ongoing growth and professional development — we learn and grow together!
We’re energetic, supportive, and love a good laugh. With long-standing kaiako who bring experience and heart, we’ve created a positive, collaborative culture where everyone is encouraged to contribute, learn, and shine.
Connection to our wider hapori (community) is a big part of who we are — from neighbourhood hīkoi, to visits with local kura, pakihi, and even a nearby retirement home. Our Tamariki are active, confident participants in the world around them.
We’re on the lookout for a passionate Kaiako to join our vibrant Over 3’s room, working alongside our awesome preschoolers. Got a special interest in the 2–3 age group? We’re open to shaping the role to suit the right person — because we know great teachers thrive where they feel most inspired.
With flexible hours between 20–32 per week across 4 days, this is the perfect opportunity to bring balance to your week while doing what you love.
If you’re someone who lights up around Tamariki, loves building meaningful relationships, and brings a creative spark (hello visual arts lovers!), we’d love to hear from you. You’ll enjoy diving into project-based learning, supporting social and emotional growth, embracing neurodiversity, and learning right alongside our curious little explorers.
Our offer to you:
- Flexible hours between 20–32 per week across 4 days.
- A fun, collaborative team that truly has each other’s backs.
- Ongoing opportunities to grow your knowledge in primary care and Reggio-inspired practice.
- A centre that prioritises whanaungatanga, community, and meaningful learning.
What we’re looking for:
- You are ECE qualified with a current Full or Provisional Teaching Registration.
- A genuine passion for working our Tamariki.
- A kind, empathetic approach and commitment to building strong relationships with Tamariki and whānau.
- A positive team player who is enthusiastic and open to learning and growing.
If you’re looking for a role where relationships are at the heart, where your mahi truly matters, and where you’ll be supported to grow and thrive — nau mai, haere mai! We’d love to meet you!
