At Active Explorers Masterton, we believe in nurturing both tamariki and emerging kaiako. Our centre is inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, celebrating curiosity, creativity, and the unique strengths each child brings. We create an environment where ideas are valued, individuality is embraced, and everyone — including our teachers-in-training — feels supported to grow.
With four beautifully designed learning rooms tailored to each developmental stage, our centre offers rich, play‑based learning, cultural diversity, and a strong sense of belonging. Our curriculum is full of outdoor exploration, music, art, literacy, and meaningful community connections. It’s a lively, warm, and heart‑centred place to begin or continue your teaching journey.
About the Role
We’re looking for a passionate kaiako-in-training (or an experienced non‑certificated kaiako) to join our toddler room, supporting tamariki aged 14 months to 2 years. Our busy, curious toddlers are ready for someone who will jump into the learning, the laughter, and the beautiful chaos of toddlerhood.
If you’re currently studying toward your ECE qualification and want a centre that will uplift you as you develop your practice, this is a place where you’ll be encouraged, mentored, and truly valued.
