Lollipops New Plymouth is a centre filled with aroha, wairua, and genuine whanaungatanga. Even though we have two rooms, we operate as one tight‑knit whānau — supporting each other, communicating openly, and celebrating everyone’s unique mana. As our centre continues to grow, we’re looking for an ECE Certificated Kaiako who brings positivity, curiosity, and a love for tamariki-led learning.

Te Reo Māori is used every day throughout the centre, and we would love someone confident, growing, or simply passionate about weaving reo and tikanga into daily practice. We embrace all cultures and languages — your whakapapa, identity, and passions are welcomed here.

Our under‑2s space is a calm, nurturing environment where pēpi can explore at their own pace, with its own outdoor area and cosy sleep room. Our 2–6s environment is full of life and ako — with a large outdoor area, sandpit, climbing equipment, wai play, gardening, and an open‑plan room perfect for creativity and discovery. We head out regularly for hīkoi, community visits, and special trips to the hospital ward where our tamariki gift their beautiful paintings — building connections with our wider hapori.

Whether you're a new grad, provisionally registered, or fully certificated, if you bring heart, flexibility (especially with opens and closes), and a genuine commitment to our tamariki and whānau — we’d love to meet you.

Our offer to you:

  • 32 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
  • A warm, welcoming whānau of kaiako.
  • A well-resourced centre full of creative opportunities.
  • Supportive leadership focused on your professional growth.
  • Competitive pay and a well-balanced lifestyle.
  • Sufficient non-contact hours for effective program planning.
  • Half‑day paid birthday leave.
  • Subsidised childcare for your own tamariki.
  • Opportunity to join the Evolve network of ECE professionals.

What we're looking for in you:

  • A nurturing, passionate kaiako committed to great outcomes for tamariki.
  • Flexibility with opens and closes.
  • You are ECE Qualified and hold Current/Provisional Teaching Registration.
  • A strong team player who values kotahitanga and kōrero tika.
  • Someone who loves play-based, child-led, holistic learning.

Our mahi thrives on kotahitanga and genuine commitment. If you bring steady kaha, good energy, and true aroha for tamariki and kaiako, you’ll fit right in.
