  • A dynamic leadership role that will continue to develop your skills and prepare you for future Centre Management opportunities.
  • An established centre where whānaungatanga underpins everything we do.
  • More than Full Pay Parity!
Learning Adventures Maraenui is a purpose-built early childhood centre with beautiful, spacious, and intentionally designed learning environments. Through a play-based, holistic, and nurturing approach, we create an inclusive programme where every tamaiti can thrive.
At Learning Adventures, te ao Māori and te reo Māori are woven through our everyday practice, with whānaungatanga at the heart of our mahi. Our love for our hapori is reflected in our local curriculum, helping our tamariki develop strong connections to their community and sense of belonging.

Due to our much-loved Assistant Manager moving on to an exciting new opportunity, we are seeking an Assistant Centre Manager to join our permanent team of eight.

This role is ideal for an experienced teacher who sees themselves stepping into a Centre Manager position in the future. Working alongside our Complex Manager, you'll have the opportunity to lead while being supported by an experienced mentor who will work collaboratively alongside you every step of the way.

Our centre serves a vibrant and diverse community where meaningful relationships with whānau and external agencies are an important part of our daily work. You'll regularly work alongside community support services, health professionals, and educational partners to advocate for the best outcomes for tamariki and their families.

No two days are the same. We're looking for a resilient, adaptable leader who can confidently navigate changing priorities, embrace challenges, and support both their team and community with professionalism, empathy, and a solutions-focused approach.
Most importantly, our tamariki, whānau, and community deserve someone at the front of our waka who will champion their aspirations, build strong relationships, and bring a genuine passion for quality early childhood education, local stories, and community connections.
Are you ready to make a meaningful difference in a community that's ready to welcome you?

Our Offer to You
  • A wonderful team to work with, led by a nurturing, experienced Complex Manager who sees the potential in everyone.
  • A well-resourced centre that supports creativity, curiosity, and quality teaching practice.
  • Ongoing support from centre leadership and our wider rōpū of five diverse centres across Hawke's Bay.
  • More than Full Pay Parity and support for a healthy work-life balance.
  • A genuine leadership development pathway towards future Centre Management opportunities.
  • Access to the Evolve network of ECE professionals.
  • Generous non-contact time to support effective programme planning and leadership responsibilities.
What We're Looking For
  • ECE qualified with current Full Teaching Registration.
  • A commitment to equitable, high-quality education and positive outcomes for all learners.
  • A genuine interest in and commitment to incorporating te reo Māori and te ao Māori into everyday practice.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with tamariki, whānau, colleagues, and community partners.
  • Resilience, adaptability, and the ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced environment.
  • A growth mindset and a genuine desire to continue developing your leadership capability.
  • Previous leadership experience is advantageous, but your willingness to learn and grow is even more important.
If you're ready to take the next step in your leadership journey and want to make a lasting impact in a centre deeply connected to its community, we'd love to hear from you.
