We’re looking for a motivated Centre Cook to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for preparing nutritious and balanced meals for Tamariki under 5 in a safe and hygienic environment.

At Lollipops Aubrey Street we’re proud of our welcoming culture, vast outdoor areas (with real grass!), and strong connections with our community and whānau. Our tamariki are at the heart of everything we do, and we’re passionate about creating joyful, enriching environments for them to thrive.

You'll play a vital role in promoting healthy eating habits and a positive mealtime experience for our Tamariki, fuelling them for a big day of learning! • Food Safety: Follow strict food safety and hygiene rules, including correct food storage and handling.
  • Inventory Management: Keep track of supplies, order what’s needed, and ensure the kitchen is well-stocked.
  • Cleanliness: Keep the kitchen tidy and clean all utensils and equipment properly.
  • Communication: Work with Kaiako (Teachers) to understand children's food needs and make mealtimes enjoyable.
  • Education: Teach children about healthy eating and encourage them to try different foods.

Background and Experience:

  • Previous experience in cooking or food preparation, preferably in early childhood/ education or aged care.
  • Knowledge of nutrition and dietary needs for young children.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, and autonomously in a kitchen alone

If you're passionate about nourishing young minds and want to be part of a fun, purpose-driven team, we’d love to hear from you!
