Situated on former bowling club grounds and blessed with an idyllic backyard, Active Explorers Shakespeare Street is a warm and welcoming Early Learning Centre that feels like a home away from home for local Greymouth children. 

With our incredible outdoor space, we're a Centre that fosters independence and autonomy in Tamariki, and we're seeking a dedicated leader who puts people at the heart of everything they do, to step into our Centre Manager role.

In this role, you'll partner with our team and families, fostering genuine community engagement. You'll continue to build on our programme, process and pedagogy - really, you will be a co-player, cheerleader, advocate and most importantly, love working in a small team and community.

You’ll provide effective hands-on leadership that encourages, supports, and enables all team members to achieve their objectives and goals. You’ll lead with a strong commitment to equity, ensuring fair and inclusive practices. 

Working closely with your Area Manager, you'll relish the opportunity to enhance our curriculum and really make your mark in this area.

What we're looking for in you:

  • You are ECE Qualified and hold Full Teaching Registration.
  • You ideally have demonstrated experience in a Centre Manager role, or you're ready to take that step up to ECE Leadership. 
  • You take a holistic approach to management, you know that people are at the heart of everything, and you’re an exceptional communicator and relationship builder.
  • You’re a role model for your people, with an encouraging approach and genuine interest in the development of others.
