At Active Explorers Hokitika, relationships come first. Our centre is full of laughter, curiosity, and connection — creating a welcoming space for tamariki and their whānau.

We care for children aged 3 months to 6 years and, as the only centre in Hokitika with a nursery, we support tamariki from their earliest days through to their next learning steps.

As a Team Leader, you’ll guide and inspire our educators, fostering a collaborative, inclusive environment where children thrive and staff feel supported. You’ll play a key role in program development, mentoring colleagues, and driving the quality of learning experiences across the centre.

As an Enviroschools centre, outdoor learning and caring for our environment are part of daily life, reflecting our strong connection to our community and the beautiful West Coast.

What we're looking for in you:

• You are ECE qualified with a current Full or Provisional Teaching Registration.
• Passionate about mentoring, coaching, and inspiring colleagues. 
• A positive, proactive, and collaborative approach to leadership. 
• Confident in building strong relationships with children, families and colleagues.
