We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring, and passionate Kaiako to join our team at Active Explorers Blenheim. Our centre is a place where curiosity blooms, grounded in strong relationships and Kotahitanga, where tamariki, whānau, and Kaiako feel a true sense of belonging.

This role is based in our over-2s space, supporting children as they play, explore, and discover the world around them. You'll work alongside a supportive and experienced team who are passionate about providing high-quality care and learning experiences for our youngest learners. Every day brings opportunities to celebrate milestones, support discovery, and build trusting relationships that help children feel safe, secure, and confident.

Our tamariki love spending time outdoors. We have a large outdoor area and a growing garden where children dig, plant, explore, and connect with Papatūānuku through hands-on play. If you enjoy getting outside, following children’s interests, and bringing energy and warmth into your day, you’ll feel right at home here.

If you have experience with children, bring a positive attitude, are committed to creating nurturing and responsive learning environments, and are willing to learn and use Te Reo Māori in everyday moments, we would love to hear from you.

• You are ECE Qualified and hold current Full or Provisional Teaching Registration.
• You are passionate, caring, and committed to education, and the best learning outcomes for tamariki.
• You bring in new ideas to the table.  
• Confident knowledge of Te Whāriki and key Early Documents (Te Kōrerorero, He Māpuna te Tamaiti, Kōwhiti Whakapae, Tapasā, Tataiako).
