Do you love the energy, curiosity, and big personalities of our over 2s? At Active Explorers Melville, we're looking for an energetic and passionate Certificated Kaiako to join our team on a one year fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave and help our tamariki grow their confidence, independence, and love of learning.

We're looking for someone who can keep up with our active and curious tamariki and who genuinely enjoys getting involved in their world. You’ll be fun, energetic, enthusiastic, and confident, bringing plenty of personality into the learning environment. If you love encouraging children to explore, ask questions, try new things, and discover the world around them, this could be the role for you!

As a Certificated Kaiako, you'll work alongside tamariki and the wider teaching team to create engaging learning experiences that support their development, interests, and individual learning journeys. You'll use play and everyday experiences to extend children's learning, bringing a positive attitude, creativity, and a willingness to get involved — whether that's joining in outdoor adventures, getting messy with creative activities, or helping tamariki develop new skills and confidence.

What we're looking for in you:

• A current NZ ECE teaching qualification and practising certificate
• A genuine passion for working with children aged 2 years and over
• An energetic, fun, and enthusiastic personality who can keep up with active tamariki
• Someone who loves encouraging children's curiosity, exploration, and creativity
• A playful and engaging approach to supporting children's learning through everyday experiences
• A positive team player who enjoys working collaboratively with others
• A patient, responsive, and positive approach to supporting children's individual development and wellbeing
• A willingness to learn, grow, and contribute to a vibrant learning environment
